Hi,
In Word 2003 running under Windows Vista I get an unexpected space behind special characters such as č, ž, ć, š... Any suggestions how that comes and how to avoid this unecessary spaces?
TIA

If it is OCR text then try pasting the text to Notepad and see what happens.
If not, are you using a unicode font? Try with Arial Unicode MS and see what happens.

Hi Spiros,
I am using Arial where I normally use shortkeys for special characters, ex.
Ctrl+Shift+C=Ć or Ctrl+Alt+c= ć.
When I use this method for inserting special characters I get a space after the inserted ones:
ex.
Kovač ević instead of Kovačević.
When I paste this words in Notepad the spaces are away.

Have you checked AutoCorrect and AutoFormat As You Type settings?
They are so annoying I usually turn everything off, but sometimes they reset themselves.
Or you can try the opposite approach - delete Normal.dot to reset everything to defaults (you lose all customisations you've made).
