Hi there Perhaps a question for agency owners rather than translators: has anyone come across a good database application for storing/managing details of freelancers / subcontractors? I am looking for something that enables you to store and sort by details not just of language pairs but specialisms, type of work undertaken, previous jobs undertaken for your organisation and other info that would be useful when considering linguists for a given job.

Perhaps there is nothing like this out there, or perhaps someone has created their own proprietary database to meet similar needs?
Hi Dan, you can use QuaHill, I have worked with it and believe it is really comprehensive and useful. Have a look at http://www.quahill.com Best regards, Jitka

I would suggest having a look at the new "BaccS", which also has a contractors module.

You are welcome to use the most time-tested translation management tool, which is designed specifically for small and medium-sized translation agencies:
Actually, many freelance translators have used it successfully as a step forward in shifting focus from being a freelance translator to becoming translation agency. That's why we have numerous business cases and testimonials at the main page. It's always a pleasure to see when freelance translator first upgrades her or his Translation Office 3000 to Projetex 1 Server/1Workstation and then grows over the years adding workstations along the way.
