Il termine esiste e viene in genere usato insieme ad "out of shape" per descrivere maglioni vecchi, sformati e sfilacciati.
Nel caso specifico bisognerà forse girare la frase: è esterrefatta dai prezzi dei capi sfilacciati di *....
Oppure:
è esterrefatta dai prezzi che * (il re dello sfilacciato)...
Ecco un paio di occorrenze di "pilly":

in questo caso credo che "pilly" equivalga a squallido, di scarsa qualità, qualcosa che si rovina facilmente e che dovrebbe costare poco ma ahimé ora ha dei prezzi spropositati

non mi viene in mente un altro aggettivo al posto di squallido che forse è un po' troppo "forte". Se il linguaggio è informale potresti usare "ammuffito"
