More about life up in the Austrian Alps. I can't find a translation for "auf Stöhr" anywhere. Or is it just another way of saying "von Haus zu Haus"? Could I translate it as "they went from door to door", or is there some other special meaning? TIA for your assistance. |

So you could probably squash the question, although if someone answers it anyway, I will honour it with points. Nicole Schnell: 00:27 Mar 20, 2007: This seems to be a typo in the transcript: "auf Stör" would be correct. It's something like a travelling salesman, don't know the English term (yet), however, you will find a lot of information online, googling w/ the correct spelling. Rowan Morrell: 00:28 Mar 20, 2007: Never mind - I've closed it myself. Sorry for the false alarm to anyone who wanted to answer. But many thanks to all those who have helped me with my other problems on this challenging but quite enjoyable job. Just a page and a half to go with it now, so hopefully I won't need to ask too many more questions! xxxFrancis Lee: 11:39 Mar 20, 2007: Just out of interest: can we assume you in fact left "auf Stör" out in the English sentence, seeing as the "house to house" definition follows immediately afterwards?
