German德语至English英语翻译 [专业] 互联网、电子商务 | | German德语词条或短语: ... aus welchen Domänen ... | I'd be grateful for any help with the following sentence which is from the \"Terms and Conditions of Use\" of an Internet carrier company. My attempts so far sound a bit awkward.
\"Wir halten fest, aus welchen Domänen unsere Webbesucher kommen\".
I thought at first of \"We take records of the domains of our web visitors\", but that would imply that people who access their site have their own domain, which might not necessarily be the case, wouldn\'t it?
Thanks for any help! |
| | | we track the referring domains of visitors to our site(s) | 说明: Most visitors would be referred via an Internet domain one way or another, a certain percentage could probably not be categorised in that way.
I doubt the alternative of 'business sector' could be tracked by software so easily, so find that solution unlikely.

| which business sectors
说明: Using "domains" would indeed be confusing, even if correct. If they had meant "domains" in the Internet sense, then I think they would have said "Bereichsnamen" or "Domänenname". So I do think they mean that:
"We will record from which business sectors our web visitors come from". This also makes commercial sense.

| domains
说明: Your first instinct was right (and so is Academic), the system tracks the domain which referred the visitor to the website. Last year, I was involved in translating a tracking software package -- it was quite an eye opener to find out how much information on the visitor can be collected. Tracking the referring domain or the referring website is very common.
