Same sentence as my previous question. I know abgewandelt is "modified" or something along those lines, but what I can't work out is whether the jacket crowns were modified from or for the "Geschirrporzellan". I'm inclined to think "from", but the use of the dative suggests "for" or even "to". TIA for helping me clear this up. |

So here too, the felspathic porcelain is being modified from the regular porcelain? Rowan Morrell (asker): 03:26 May 5, 2004: Copied and Pasted Exactly - But I guess the "der" should really be "den".

As I read it, the Jacketkronenmassen were derived from Geschirrporzellan. |

I'd say it's about a modified form of 'Geschirrporzellan'

\"dem...abgewandelt\" does not sound normal in German, so you can just go with the idea behind it - in my opinion

about your note: yes, that would be the same thing

about the other note: no \'der\' is correct. Even though I have never heard this structure with \'abgewandelt\' before, it follows this one: \"aus der dem Porzellan \'nachgeahmten\' Feldspatkeramik\".

and as a final note: that would be the same as: aus der Feldspatkeramik, die dem Porzellan nachgeahmt ist
