Il testo italiano lascia perplessi (che vuol dire fare all'amore vecchio stile? Mah!) e "durezza della botta" forse sta a significare la velocità e profondità dei colpi pelvici oppure la loro cadenza ritmica più o meno forte.

Hanno già risposto ieri, ma a dir la verità, per me la "botta" è il classico "colpo", cioè thrust, più che bang, l'esplosione finale per intenderci.
Il testo italiano lascia perplessi (che vuol dire fare all'amore vecchio stile? Mah!) e "durezza della botta" forse sta a significare la velocità e profondità dei colpi pelvici oppure la loro cadenza ritmica più o meno forte.

Yesterday the sentence was shorter and "botta" seemed to convey another meaning.
I agree with thrust as a correct translation. Take "The weight of the thrust" just a mild suggestion, it obviously all depends very much on the general approach of the whole work.
