Bio
I am an experienced German/English-Finnish translator, self-employed since 2008, first in Helsinki and since 2016 in Berlin. I am a Finnish native speaker and was born, studied, and worked in Finland, but I have also lived in Berlin for many years and spent long periods in London.

I hold a Master's degree in Germanic Philology from the University of Helsinki and have additionally studied Architecture at the Technical University of Berlin and Terminology at the Open University of Vaasa, Finland.

Since 2006, I have been a professional translator, specialising in technical and mechanical texts, as well as marketing and technical marketing texts. I translate from German and English into Finnish and from Finnish into German.

I have a qualification as an underground train driver, so one of my specialties is train technology, as I worked for 9 years as an underground train driver in the Helsinki Metro, Finland.

I started my translation career as a patent translator in the field of engineering and mechanics, but recently I have been working a lot with AI generated text and with transcreation/copywriting projects.
