Description


ProZ.com is pleased to announce its online French Language Course

The course consists of ten (10) modules of three (3) hours each, aimed at starters in French language. Each unit can be customized according to the needs of the student.

Price: € 600 for the complete course (Buy)

The training is provided on a one-to-one basis, using Skype, MSN or a standard telephone. Dates and times are agreed between the lecturer and the student.


Introductory module



  • Welcome introduction
  • French language all over the world
  • Which are the words you know in French?
  • What do you know about French culture?
  • The alphabet and the diphthongs (are you ready to spell your name?).
  • Identify masculine and feminine names
  • My name is…. (reflexive verb “s’appeler”)
  • Basic sentences/vocabulary
  • The days of the week

  • Duration: 3 hours

Second module



  • The numbers (cardinals)
  • The definite and indefinite articles
  • The plural of the nouns
  • Personal pronouns
  • Indicative present of the verb “to be” (être);
  • Main countries, capitals and nationalities
  • How old are you?
  • A short description of yourself (by using some basic adjectives)
  • Prepositions of place
  • Where is/ where are…?

  • Duration: 3 hours.

Third module



  • The numbers (ordinals)
  • Prepositions of time
  • What time is it?
  • The negative form
  • The three conjugations of the verbs
  • Present tense
  • First conjugation in –er
  • How to present yourself!br />
  • Where do you live? Where do you come from?br />

  • Duration: 3 hours

Fourth module



  • Some professions
  • The family
  • Possessives
  • Talk about yourself!
  • Ask questions!
  • The calendar (months, seasons and Portuguese holidays)
  • What’s the weather like today?
  • The colours

  • Duration: 3 hours.

Fifth module


  • Irregular verb “estar”
  • Some adverbs of time
  • Comparative adjectives
  • Present tense
  • Second conjugation in –er
  • Demonstrative determiners
  • I would like…. (introduction of the Conditional)
  • In a shop (dealing with money)

  • Duration: 3 hours.

Sixth module



  • At home
  • In the street
  • Pay and be paid (transactions)
  • Have to/need to and infinitive verbs
  • Be polite!
  • Ask and give directions!
  • At restaurant (understand a menu)
  • The meals .

  • Duration: 3 hours

Seventh module



  • Make a phone call
  • Use of the Past
  • Unsatisfied? Complain yourself!
  • Human body
  • Cloths
  • Daily activities
  • Reflexive verbs
  • Third conjugation in –ir/ant

  • Duration: 3 hours.

Eighth module



  • Past participle of verbs in –er (1 st conjugation)
  • Active and Passive voice
  • Third conjugation in –oir
  • Irregular verb “faire”
  • What are you doing now?
  • Present continuous “à la française” (être en train de)
  • Dictation

  • Duration: 3 hours.

Ninth module



  • Past participle of verbs in –ir (2 nd conjugation)
  • Active and Passive voice
  • Third conjugation in –re
  • Means of transportation
  • Irregular verb “aller”
  • Prepositions (revision)
  • Where do you go on holidays?
  • Places to stay
  • Listening to French music (lyrics with blanks to complete)

  • Duration: 3 hours.

Tenth module



  • Past participle of verbs in –ir (3 rd conjugation)
  • Active and Passive voice
  • At the doctor
  • Basic diseases
  • A bit of poetry
  • Reading without hesitating

  • Duration: 3 hours.

 

Payment method


All the payment options available. To the course please use the (Buy) option. After your payment is received, your status will be changed to “registered and paid”and your spot for the session will be secured. An invoice and receipt of payment will be sent to you for your records.



 


Sonia da Costa
Bio: Sonia da Costa is a Bilingual freelance translator. She was born in France and grown there until she was 12 years old. At school, when she was a child, she used to teach Portuguese to her friends just for fun. Then, she moved to Portugal where she still lives. She has a Master’s degree in Specialized Translation. She is an officially recognized trainer of French for Foreigners in Portugal. She spends her time translating and teaching her two languages. She has relevant experience with children as well as adults (private, groups and in companies).
