PowerLing increased ATRIL's capital by taking out a controlling stake

In January 2011, PowerLing increased ATRIL's capital by taking out a controlling stake, aiming via this investment to leverage the necessary resources for R&D and thus drive the commercial development of Déjà Vu software throughout the world.

In an interview, Atril CEO Yannick Bétis describes his ambitions for Déjà Vu:

Why this merger of Atril and PowerLing?

We have been working together for over two years now and have got to know each other well. From the outset I have believed firmly in Déjà Vu’s potential. Our product set the pace in the industry, harnessing ambitious technological strategy and a marked customer-led approach. I have noticed that most of our competitors have adopted solutions very similar to those we have been marketing for over 15 years.

Our ambition is to restore Déjà Vu to its rightful leading position and to support Daniel Benito and his development staff as they concentrate on research and innovation.

How are things shaping up?

We have invested in Atril capital, and reworked the group organisation. You can check out the new line-up on our new website www.atril.com detailing the responsibilities of each.

We have also streamlined our working methods and rolled out a professional organisation to bring the same level of service to all our clients throughout the world.

Anything new in the offing?

Our investment is mainly R&D-oriented. We are focussing our drive on a major short-term aim: the release of DVX2 and TeamServer 2 in the coming weeks. We have recruited specialists to support our in-house team and accelerate the roll-out process for this new version of Déjà Vu. But this is not an end in itself. I hope to provide our clients with support on a daily basis, listening carefully to their needs and offering new features tailored to their own market requirements.

What’s in the pipeline?

With the setup of our Training Center across all continents, the opening of our new branch in the US in Boston and major commercial partnerships in emerging countries such as Russia, Brazil and China.

To wrap up

I am lucky to have a young, highly motivated team, coming from various horizons and keen to write new chapters in the story of Déjà Vu.
