WOW. Two more amazing features.

(1) Case-adaptive find & replace is one hell of a cool feature! Just using it for the first time today, extensively, and it is absolutely amazing. I wonder if any other CAT tools have this yet?

For example, your text is full of the word ‘subelement’, sometimes written as ‘subelement’, sometimes as ‘Subelement’, and sometimes as ‘SUBELEMENT’. You want to hyphenate it, but don't feel like doing 3 or more different F&R

In CT, just check the ‘Preserve case with replacement’ checkbox and run your replacement. In one fell swoop, you will change:

subelement > Sub-element
Subelement > Sub-element
SUBELEMENT > SUB-ELEMENT

(2) And the second one is called ‘Simultaneous find & replace’, which allows you to find & replace text in your project (i.e., the document you are translating, or even several documents glued together virtually) and any connected TMs ... simultaneously.

Do any other CAT tools have this yet? Is the CAT guru listening I wonder...?

There's a major flaw in CafeTran's Find & Replace: It doesn't exist.

There's only "Find & Replace ALL." That means you'll have to be very sure what you're doing if you use the "feature", especially since there's no Undo either.

Not recommended in most cases and for most users.

Cheers,

Hans

Yes, global replacement can be dangerous in some cases. For instance, in French, if you replace a word that starts with a consonant by one starting with a vowel, this will affect articles and/or pronouns. Likewise, if you replace a masculine word with a feminine one, this will affect adjectives, participates etc. Therefore, Find Next, Replace, Replace all (as found in Word, memoQ etc.) are desirable and much needed options.
