Hello friends,

The TM and Termbase windows somehow disappeared from the user interface while I was working on a project. I can't remember how to make them reappear. I tried the functions under the Window tab ("New Horizontal Tab" and "New Vertical Tab") but they don't seem to be the rights functions.

You can see from the screenshot below that the Properties box is showing instead of the TM and Termbase.

I'm using DV X2 8.0.641

Thanks in advance,
Marcus

A long trip down memory lane Sep 22, 2017

It's donkey's years since I worked in DVX2, but I'm sure you can turn the TM/TB display on using either the View tab or under File/Options.

Reset the layout Sep 22, 2017

If all else fails (the buttons on the View tab don't help and you also cannot find the missing windows undocked somewhere on your desktop), you can reset the layout to the default:

I believe the downside is that you'll lose any menu and keyboard customizations too.

I have DVX2 and DVX3. They share the same basic screen configuration. Go to the bottom of the screen to the right. You should be able to see two tabs: Properties (which you have unintentionally selected in your graphic) and AutoSearch - Portions.

The AutoSearch - Portions tab allows you to view your TM and termbase matches.

Good luck!

"AutoSearch" icon (bottom middle) Sep 23, 2017

Mario, the bottom right of Marcus' screenshot was the first place I looked, and I saw that those tabs weren't there.
But there is one other detail on the screenshot that I overlooked. If you look at the middle of the bottom edge of the screenshot, there are six little icons. Five of them have an orange background but one doesn't. I believe that is the easiest solution to Marcus' problem.

Marcus, if you mouse over this icon, I believe you will see the text "AutoSearch". The lack of a background means that AutoSearch is switched off. If you click on this icon with the mouse button, I believe this will restore the on-screen TM/TB windows.
I just checked in DVX3, and I can switch the windows on and off with this icon. I'm sure this also applies to DVX2 - it's probably somewhere in my ancient blog articles from 2011/2012:

AutoSearch Sep 23, 2017

Yes, folks, it was the AutoSearch tab/button all along. I accidentally discovered the tick box was unticked. So yes, thank you Mario, Endre and Victor for confirming. I really need to upgrade to DVX3

DVX4 is already mentioned at Atril web site, perhaps it is better to wait a few weeks (hopefully not months) for the new release.

You're right. I admit I almost never look down on the bottom row of icons, which are selectable.
