I have been a translator for over 30 years and I love it. After many years of translating financial and legal documents, I began to focus on literary translation.

I have an academic background in English and American literature (Degree at Aix-en-Provence University), in English & Economics (Masters at the Sorbonne University), in translation (Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation). I have worked many years in creative and business specialisations. I have translated two art books, three children books and I am currently working on five children's books. I am a member of the SoA and would love to translate more art and children's books.

As a PHD in German Philology and Modern History literature and humanities texts are my natural ground. Parallel to my work as technical and legal translator I offer literary translations and I intend to expand this business. My current projects are literal translations for the series 111 Orte by the German publisher Emons Verlag. I already finished the book 111 Orte in Umbrien (ISBN 9783740802387), the next confirmed projects are Malta (by April) Langhe (by July) and Naples (by October).

In my 10+ years of work for the French publishing house Edition Prosveta, I translated, proof-read and revised many philosophical books, which were published and well-received in the Middle-East. I have also translated Poetry and a comic book into the Arabic-Lebanese colloquial.

PhD in Humanities with emphasis on translation studies at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2015. My dissertation, "Translation in the Digital Age: Reconstructing Montaigne's 'Du Repentir'," includes a hypertext translation of an essay by Michel de Montaigne.

I wrote hundreds of poems and published a poetical dialogue with a fellow poet. I wrote several songs back in the 70s. I published an essay about happiness which I presented lectures of. I am a passionate writer and translator. I use creative writing all the time through the various transcreation projects that I have the pleasure of performing, be it for introducing a new product or delivering marketing material.

I am a native Greek translator based in Switzerland. I have been working as a translator since 2009. In 2010, I started my collaboration with a Greek self-published author and I translated historical short stories and fiction from French into Greek. I am in the process of translating a romance novel from English into Greek.
I am experienced in historical fiction, fantasy, romance and crime novels. I would love to translate children's books and noir literature.

As I am a Nietzsche researcher and a student of Auguste Comte's philosophy, my literaty translations cover several papers from Spanish / English into Portuguese with those subjects as a target. I've been published my translations in specialized magazines like Estudos Nietzsche.
I also translated an narrative from Portuguese into English that dealt with Michel Foucault's visit to Brazil during the 1970s written by a famous Brazilian professor and published by Columbia University Press.

Am I that reader who basked for decades in the bliss of reading works written in languages I don't understand? I sure am. Want to keep the juices flowing for others in my turn? I do, but this is not new to me. Teaching literary translation in France was all about sharing food for thought and the power of words. Literary translation as a professional occupation makes it a respectful duty to help the author shine.

As a Classicist, translating literature is one of my biggest pleasures. Unfortunately, one of the hardest to come by, outside the academic world or the pro bono challenges of cultural associations. As a specialist in Ancient Greek tragedy, I have found that translating for modern theatre is equally fascinating. As a comics addict, I would be more than happy to venture in the field of translating speech balloons!

My interest in books and literature began at a very early age and developed along with a talent for languages and the written word. I discovered a particular flair for literary translation whilst at university studying Joint Honours French and German and, upon completing my degree, was offered a postgraduate teaching post on this basis. I am now especially interested in developing this area of expertise in my translation business though for the moment I have no specific experience to offer.

With an academic background in French literature: BA Hons from Cambridge, MA in Modern French Cultural Studies, Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation (Distinction in Literature paper), I have subsequently widened my experience by working in a range of commercial settings. I'm now freelance and have translated a novel, two art books and am working on a graphic novel. I'm particularly interested in childrens/YA fiction, graphic novels, thrillers and sci fi.
