Fuel tank: Basically a holding tank for your fuel. When you fill up at a gas station the gas travels down the filler tube and into the tank. In the tank there is a sending unit, which tells the gas gauge how much gas is in the tank.
Fuel pump: On newer cars the fuel pump is usually installed in the fuel tank. Older cars have the fuel pump attached to the engine or on the frame rail between the tank and the engine. If the pump is in the tank or on the frame rail then it is electric and is run by your cars battery. Fuel pumps mounted to the engine use the motion of the engine to pump the fuel
Fuel filter: Clean fuel is critical to engine life and performance. Fuel injectors have tiny openings, which clog easily so filtering the fuel is the only way to prevent this. Filters can be before or after the fuel pump, sometimes both.
Fuel injectors: Most domestic cars after 1986 and earlier foreign cars came from the factory with fuel injection. Instead of a carburetor to mix the fuel and air, a computer controls when the fuel injectors open to let fuel into the engine. This has resulted in lower emissions and better fuel economy. The fuel injector is basically a tiny electric valve, which opens and closes with an electric signal. In the picture below you can see the injectors towards the outer part of the intake. By injecting the fuel close to the cylinder head the fuel stays atomized ( in tiny particles ) so it will burn better when ignited by the spark plug.
Carburetors: A carburetor takes the fuel and mixes it with air without computer intervention. While simple in operation, they tend to need frequent tuning and rebuilding. This is why most newer cars have done away with carburetors in favor of fuel injection.

clusters) widely available today it is possible to achieve a maximum availability level of
99.99% (1 hour downtime per year). This will not be enough to meet the telco requirements of
today and future requirements in the E/M-business. The demand will be for true zero
downtime applications with availability beyond 99.999% (5 minutes downtime per year). This
requirement can only be met by applications that operate in parallel and can respond to the
failure of individual components with rapid switchover times to additional redundant
components. However, writing and testing such applications is a very expensive business that
requires highly specialized know-how on the part of the application developer.
UNIX is the tried and trusted operating system for maximum scalability and availability. It
supports sophisticated cluster frameworks that monitor the cluster and initiate appropriate
responses in the event of an error. Moreover, these frameworks provide interfaces that permit
implementation of parallel database architectures (e.g. Oracle Parallel servers). However,
applications working in parallel inside the cluster are only supported to an unsatisfactory
extent by the available cluster frameworks.
RTP has been developed on the basis of many years of experience with service
implementations in the telephone sector. This sector has long been familiar with the
requirements for maximum availability and scalability, albeit with much lower demands on
database technology compared with the area of e-commerce. The solutions for the telco sector
and for E/M commerce will gradually merge in the future. The RTP solution is based on the
available cluster frameworks and allows the user to write parallel applications with relative
ease. For many applications, RTP - compared with specialized hardware systems - is the least
expensive and most future-oriented solution for meeting the availability and scalability

The MB84VY6A4A1 system-in-package (SIP) mounts six memory chips in two stacked packages. The new SIP consists of an upper package holding four application processor memory IC (128-Mbit NOR flash EEPROM, 64-Mbit NOR flash EEPROM, 64-Mbit FCRAM, and 32-Mbit FCRAM), while the lower package is for baseband processor memory (one each 32-Mbit NOR flash EEPROM and 8-Mbit SRAM).
The application processor memory bus has been separated from the baseband processor memory bus to minimize misoperation from crosstalk interference. It was possible to separate the two buses from each other with the conventional stacked-chip structure as well, but the increased number of boards caused a corresponding increase in cost. The new SIP uses a 2-layer glass-epoxy resin board.
The SIP packaging, which stacks IC three-dimensionally, is being productized recently. A variety of new SIP structures have been proposed, such as the stacked-package design where multiple packages, each containing one or more chips, are stacked, or the chip-on-chip (COC) approach where two chips are interconnected with minimal lead length.
Most of the SIP products on the market currently consist of single packages containing multiple memory chips, interconnected by wire bonding. It is relatively easy to lower cost with this structure when using four chips or less, but as the number of packaged chip increases, the design becomes less suited to logic IC. The new models are intended to resolve this problem.
Volume production began in November 2002, and the product has already been ordered by one mobile telephone manufacturer. Samples are ¥8,000.
Scopes Deliver 20GS/s
on Four Channels
The 54854A and 54855A Infiniium 4 to 6GHz real-time oscilloscopes were introduced. They are said to be the only models in the industry that offer four full-bandwidth, 20GSamples per channel. These new scopes can paired with the new InfiniiMax active probes at 3.5 to 7GHz. This new system is expected to assist R&D engineers in the computer, communications and semiconductor industries for validating and verifying the performance of new high-speed digital product designs.
The oscilloscopes provide a sample rate of 20GSamples/s on all four input channels simultaneously, which improves measurement accuracy of designs based on PCI Express, HyperTransport and Serial ATA, and reduces the chance of signal aliasing. The oscilloscopes can capture four, full-bandwidth, real-time signals off a single trigger event.
The system’s MegaZoom Deep Memory, which features up to 32M of memory per channel, increases the amount of information that can be captured from events leading up to and after the specified trigger event.
The company also introduced the InfiniiMax 1130A series active probes, which offer single-ended and differential measurements up to 7GHz. The design provides connectivity to full bandwidth even in the most difficult to reach situations, such as probing between memory modules on server motherboards. The flexible architecture enables the user to make either single-ended or differential measurements from a single probe amplifier, which results in a significant savings in time and money.
Pricing starts at US$49,995 for the 54854A and US$58,995 for the 54855A.
