USER GUIDE
ELECTRONIC SERIES MODEL
1. DESCRIPTION
1.1 General Overview
Electronic thermostat is one of the latest features of electric water heater that has several functions and capabilities that would surely satisfied users. This new feature performs all the basic functions of thermostat and managing of failure cases. Furthermore, it has also additional protection against the damages with antifreeze function and antibacterial function and provides the possibility of an energy consumption adapted to the user’s habits with the self-learning ECO function.
1.2 Certification
Electronic Thermostat ensures the safety of the water heater according to the standards EN 60730-1 and EN60730-2-9 and complies with the requirement of EN60335-1 and EN60335-2-21.
1.3 User Interface
Please see illustration below for buttons and LED indications.
DIGITAL TECH MODEL:
The user interface (Human-machine interface) is equipped with 4 buttons and 4 LEDs and 7-segment display with 2 digits.

Note:
In case of error or warning, all the LEDs start to blink, and the display shows the error code, according to the TABLE4.
If the user switches OFF the water heater, all the LEDs and the display must switch OFF.
BAR TECH MODEL:
The user interface (Human-Machine Interface) is equipped with 3 buttons and 6 led.
TABLE 2:
The LEDs are for Temperature Indications or Heating Indications TEMPERATURE LEDs - show the Temperature set points. The set point is showed only if the heating element is supplied.
LED: blinks if the set point is 40°C.
LED: blinks if the set point is 49°C.
LED: blinks if the set point is 59°C.
LED: blinks if the set point is 68°C.
LED: blinks if the set point is 78°C.
L_HEATING LED shows if the heating element is supplied:
It is light on fixed if the heating element is supplied in normal mode.
It blinks at low frequency (once every 4 seconds) if the heating element is supplied in ECO mode.
It is switch OFF if the heating element is OFF.
In case of error or warning, the HEATING LED blinks.
The TEMPERATURE LED show the temperature of the hot water and the actual set point. About the

Note:
In case of error, all the LEDs start to blink, pressing and holding for 4 seconds B_ON_OFF the user enters
the diagnostic mode where the LEDs are ON or OFF according to TABLE5. To exit the diagnostic mode B_ON_OFF must be pressed.
If the user switches off the water heater, all the led must switch off.
STAND ALONE MODEL (PLUG & PLAY):
The user interface (Human-machine interface) is equipped with an on-board potentiometer and an external LED.
POTENTIOMETER P1 :(has a rotation of 225°): It shows to change the set point which has possible 5 settings

EXTERNAL LED: (heating Indications)
It is light on fixed if the heating element is supplied in normal mode.
It is switch OFF if the heating element is OFF.
In case of error or warning, the HEATING LED blinks.
Note: - Manual mode corresponds to any angle between ANTIFREEZE position and maximum position: in manual mode temperature setting is between 20°C and 78°C.
1.4 Important Information:
Make sure the appliance is always connected to the electrical main source and use ON/OFF button when turning ON and OFF.
The first time the water heater is Switched ON, the set point is 70°C or 75°C in auto mode as per declaration on instruction manual.
At every power supply the water heater switches on the LEDs for 2 seconds and the heating element for 12 seconds.
2. FUNCTIONAL MODES
2.1 General Overview
The water heater, switching ON and OFF the power supply of the heating element, ensures to the water temperature desired. If the temperature measured is under the set point (temperature range), the power supply of the heating element is switch ON. If the temperature measured is bigger than the set point (temperature range), the power supply of the heating element is switch OFF.

The value of the set point is established according to the current functional mode, the hysteresis is fixed at 8° under the selected value.
2.2 OFF
In OFF mode all the LEDs and the display are switched off also antifreeze functions is deactivated. The water heater has a function of protection against the ice, to avoid damages to the system. If water heater is supplied and off, the set point is 16°C and the hysteresis fixed at 11°C. So, if the temperature measured is lower than 5°C the heating element switches on. Only when the temperature measured reaches 16°C, the heating element switches off.
2.3 ON (Manual Mode)
If the water heater works in this mode if it is ON and the antibacterial cycle is not in progress. The value of set point is the last value set by the users. Then the actual temperature must be displayed for DIGI TECH MODEL and Coded by the LEDs for BAR TECH MODEL.
If the user increases the set point and the temperature measured is lower than the set point, the heating element must be switched ON.
When the water heater switch from OFF to ON, if the temperature measured is lower than the set point, the heating element must be switched ON.
If the user switches OFF and ON the water heater or if power supply switches OFF and ON, the set point remains the last setting by the user.
DIGITAL TECH MODEL: .
To change the set point, there is a Temperature Setting Mode. If the Water Heater is on (no error) in manual mode and B_UP or B_DOWN is pressed, the Water Heater switches in Temperature Setting Mode. In this mode the display shows the actual set point blinking. If B_UP is pressed, the set point increases (5°C more) and the display shows the new value. Every time the B_DOWN is pressed, the set point decrease (5°C).
It’s impossible to set a value lower than 35°C or higher than 75°C. If the set point is 35°C and the user press B_DOWN button, the set point doesn’t change. If the set point is 75°C and the user press B_UP button, the set point doesn’t change. The Temperature Setting Mode is closed automatically if no button is pressed for 4 seconds or if it is pushed MODE button to confirm faster the new value of the set point. Also, the pressure of the B_ON_OFF button confirms this value and close the Temperature Setting Mode.
To indicate when the heating element is supplied, the LED_HEAT (red) is ON until the target temperature is reached and the heating element is switched off.
2.4 ON (ECO Mode)
DIGITAL TECH MODEL:
The ECO function is enabled by default. To disable the ECO function, it needs to press MODE button (button#6) and choose another function. If the ECO function is disabled, icon 2 is OFF.
To enable the ECO function, it needs to press MODE buttons until icon 2 is ON. If the ECO function is enabled, icon 2 in ON.
BAR TECH MODEL: .
The ECO function is enabled by default. To disable the ECO function, it needs to press simultaneously B_ON_OFF and B_DOWN buttons for at least 4 seconds. If the ECO function is disabled, TEMPERATURE LED T1 blinks for 4 seconds.
To enable the ECO function, it needs to press simultaneously B_ON_OFF and B_UP buttons for at least 4 seconds. If the ECO function is enabled, TEMPERATURE LED T1 blinks for 4 seconds.
STAND ALONE MODEL (PLUG & PLAY):
To enable the ECO function, the potentiometer must be in ECO position
The ECO function is based on a 7 days cycle.
The ECO function is based on recorded cycle, in the first record (first week) the set point is at maximum set point and the thermostat learns the user’s habits, recording time and amount of withdrawals made by the user. The size of any withdrawal is evaluated in terms of temperature drop (ΔT) measured by the thermostat. From the second record Second week) the thermostat automatically adjusts the set point in order to make available the exact amount of hot water needed. to satisfy the recorded withdrawals at the same times as the previous week. The set point is calculated by adding the recorded ΔT to the minimum temperature of use and considering all the withdrawals to be satisfied in a day.
When no withdrawals are expected the set, point is 40°C (T_COMFORT).
At the same time the thermostat records the withdrawals of the second week in order to replicate them in the next week.
2.5 ON (Antibacterial function)
The antibacterial function is enabled by default. The thermostat will automatically supply the heating element if water temperature was not able reach suitable temperature for long time. This function is designed to kill bacteria in the water.
NOTE: This function is always active if the Electric water heater is below 60°C or in off condition but still connected to the electrical source.
2.6 ON (Antifreeze)
The water heater has a function of protection against the ice, to avoid damages to the system. This system will not permit water temperature to go below 5°C
NOTE: This function is active even when the appliance is in OFF condition but still connected to the electrical source. The set point is 16°C and the hysteresis is 11°C. So, if the temperature measured is lower than 5°C the heating element switches on. Only when the temperature measured reaches 16°C, the heating element switches off.
2.7 ON (VACATION)
DIGITAL TECH MODEL:
When the water heater is set in vacation mode, antibacterial and antifreeze functions are enabled, and the LEDs and the display are all switched OFF, except the LED L_VACATION, that is ON.
3. SAFETY FUNCTIONS
IMPORTANT:
Users or Technicians must disconnect the electrical main source before doing any operation on the Electric Water Heater. Switching it OFF using ON/OFF Button or by Potentiometer is not a guarantee that the appliance is completely OFF.
Be sure to check water temperature before using even the appliance is OFF for a long period of time. Antibacterial cycle can activate even it is in OFF condition.
To manually reset the water heater, the user must switch OFF and ON the water heater by pressing OFF/ON Button.
If the detected error is manually reset and still the water heater is not functioning, please call the servicing personnel or an authorized technician.
During its functioning (ON and OFF), the water heater checks the value of the temperature measured to detect immediately any situations of danger for the user or the system. In case of error detected the water heater switches OFF the heating element, all LEDs on the HMI start to blink; by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button, the user can enter in diagnostic mode, were the LEDs and display switched will be ON or OFF according to TABLE4 for DIGITAL TECH MODEL AND TABLE5 for BAR TECH MODEL of the specifications.
If the error detected is a Volatile error, the water heater remains in error status until the cause of the error remains.
If the error detected is a Non-Volatile error, the water heater remains in error condition until a manual reset (see paragraph 3.4). In case of intervention of the thermal safety, when the thermostat is rearmed the HMI will continue to show the error until a manual reset.
If the fault detected is a warning, the interface signals a fault until the cause of the error remains or until the power supply switches off and on.
Temperature sensors OPEN/SHORT CIRCUIT: If the sensors read a value out of the range, the water heater must detect this error. As soon as the sensors read a value within the range, the water heater must leave the error status (if there is no other error) and it can switch ON the heating element.
HEATING ELEMENT WARNING (Low heating rate): If the heating element is supplied for more than 2 hours consecutive and the temperature measured by sensor does not show significant changes, the water heater must detect this warning that can be due to malfunction of the heating element. As soon as the temperature shows significant changes in two hours, the water heater removes the error signal. This warning is removed also if the power supply switches OFF and ON.
DRY HEATING: If the water heater operates without first being filled with water, the thermostat records an increase in temperature much faster than normal operating conditions and can detect this error. This fault must be removed by doing a reset. After a reset, the water must leave the error status (if there is no other error) and it can switch on the heating element.
OVERHEATING: If the measured temperature overcomes in a relevant way the set-point set by the user, the thermostat must detect this error. This fault must be removed by doing a reset. After a reset, the water must leave the error status (if there is no other error) and it can switch ON the heating element.

1. DESCRIPCIÓN
1.1 Descripción General
El termostato electrónico es una de las nuevas funciones del calentador de agua eléctrico que tiene varias funciones y capacidades que seguramente tendrá a los usuarios satisfechos. Esta nueva característica realiza todas las funciones básicas del termostato y el manejo de casos de fallo. Además, también tiene protección adicional contra los daños con la función de anti-congelamiento y la función antibacteriana y ofrece la posibilidad de un consumo de energía adaptado a los hábitos del usuario con la función ECO de autoaprendizaje.
1.2 Certificación
El termostato electrónico garantiza la seguridad del calentador de agua según los estándares EN 60730-1 y EN60730-2-9 y cumple con los requisitos de EN60335-1 y EN60335-2-21.
1.3 Interfaz de usuario

1.4 Información importante:
Asegúrese de que el aparato esté siempre conectado a la fuente principal de electricidad y use el botón ENCENDIDO / APAGADO al ENCENDER y APAGAR.
La primera vez que se ENCIENDE el calentador de agua, el punto de ajuste es de 70 ° C o 75 ° C en modo automático según la declaración del manual de instrucciones.

2. MODOS FUNCIONALES
2.1 Descripción general
El calentador de agua, que ENCIENDE y APAGA la fuente de electricidad del elemento calefactor, garantiza la temperatura deseada del agua. Si la temperatura medida está por debajo del punto de ajuste (Rango de temperatura), la fuente de electricidad del elemento calefactor se ENCIENDE. 2.2 APAGADO
En el modo APAGADO, todos los LED y las pantallas están apagados y las funciones anticongelantes están desactivadas. El calentador de agua tiene una función de protección contra el hielo, para evitar daños al sistema. Si el calentador de agua está abastecido y apagado, el punto de ajuste es de 16 ° C y la histéresis se fija en 11 ° C. Entonces, si la temperatura medida es inferior a 5 ° C, el elemento calefactor se enciende. Solo cuando la temperatura medida alcanza los 16 ° C, el elemento calefactor se apaga.
2.3 ENCENDIDO (Modo manual)
Si el calentador de agua funciona en este modo, si está ENCENDIDO y el ciclo antibacteriano no está en progreso. El valor del punto de ajuste es el último valor establecido por los usuarios. Luego, la temperatura real debe mostrarse para el MODELO DE TECNOLOGÍA DIGITAL y Codificarse por los LED para el MODELO DE TECNOLOGÍA DE BARRA.
Si el usuario aumenta el punto de ajuste y la temperatura medida es inferior al punto de ajuste, el elemento calefactor debe estar ENCENDIDO.
Cuando el calentador de agua cambia de APAGADO a ENCENDIDO, si la temperatura medida es inferior al punto de ajuste, el elemento calefactor debe estar ENCENDIDO.
Si el usuario APAGA y ENCIENDE el calentador de agua o si la fuente de electricidad se APAGA y ENCIENDE, el punto de ajuste sigue siendo el último ajuste del usuario.
MODELO DE TECNOLOGÍA DIGITAL:
Para cambiar el punto de ajuste, hay un Modo de Ajuste de temperatura. Si el Calentador de Agua está encendido (Sin error) en modo manual y es presionado el botón B_ARRIBA o el botón B_ABAJO, el Calentador de Agua cambia a Modo de Ajuste de Temperatura. En este modo, la pantalla muestra el punto de ajuste real parpadeando. Si es presionado el botón B_ARRIBA, el punto de ajuste aumenta (5 ° C más) y la pantalla muestra el nuevo valor. Cada vez que es presionado el botón B_ABAJO, el punto de ajuste disminuye (5 ° C).
Es imposible establecer un valor inferior a 35 ° C o superior a 75 ° C. Si el punto de ajuste es 35 ° C y el usuario presiona el botón B_ABAJO, el punto de ajuste no cambia. Si el punto de ajuste es de 75 ° C y el usuario presiona el botón B_ARRIBA, el punto de ajuste no cambia. El Modo de Ajuste de Temperatura se cierra automáticamente si no se presiona ningún botón durante 4 segundos o si se presiona el botón MODO para confirmar más rápido el nuevo valor del punto de ajuste. Además, la presión del botón B_ENCEDIDO_APAGADO confirma este valor y cierra el Modo de Ajuste de Temperatura.
Para indicar cuándo se suministra el elemento calefactor, el LED_ DE CALEFACCIÓN (Rojo) está ENCENDIDO hasta que se alcanza la temperatura objetivo y el elemento calefactor se apaga.
2.4 ENCENDIDO (Modo ECO)
MODELO DE TECNOLOGÍA DIGITAL:
La función ECO está activada por defecto. Para desactivar la función ECO, se debe presionar el botón MODO (botón # 6) y elegir otra función. Si la función ECO está desactivada, el icono 2 está APAGADO.
Para activar la función ECO, se debe presionar los botones MODO hasta que el icono 2 esté ENCENDIDO. Si la función ECO está activada, el icono 2 está ENCEDIDO.
MODELO DE TECNOLOGÍA DE BARRA:
La función ECO está activada por defecto. Para desactivar la función ECO, debe presionar simultáneamente los botones B_ENCEDIDO_APAGADO y B_ABAJO durante al menos 4 segundos. Si la función ECO está desactivada, el LED DE TEMPERATURA T1 parpadea durante 4 segundos.
Para habilitar la función ECO, se debe presionar simultáneamente los botones B_ENCENDIDO_APAGADO y B_ARRIBA durante al menos 4 segundos. Si la función ECO está activada, el LED DE TEMPERATURA T1 parpadea durante 4 segundos.
MODELO INDEPENDIENTE (PLUG & PLAY):
Para activar la función ECO, el potenciómetro debe estar en posición ECO.
La función ECO se basa en un ciclo de 7 días.
La función ECO se basa en el ciclo registrado, en el primer registro (Primera semana) el punto de ajuste está en el punto de ajuste máximo y el termostato aprende los hábitos del usuario, registrando el tiempo y la cantidad de extracciones realizadas por el usuario.
El tamaño de cualquier extracción es evaluado en términos de caída de temperatura (ΔT) medida por el termostato. En el segundo registro (Segunda semana) el termostato ajusta automáticamente el punto de ajuste con el fin de que esté disponible la cantidad exacta de agua caliente necesaria para alcanzar las extracciones registradas al mismo tiempo que la semana anterior. El punto de ajuste se calcula sumando el ΔT registrado a la temperatura mínima de uso y considerando todas las extracciones que se deben alcanzar en un día.
Cuando no se esperan extracciones, el punto de ajuste es 40° C (T_COMODIDAD).
Al mismo tiempo, el termostato registra las extracciones de la segunda semana con el fin de repetirlos en la próxima semana.
2.5 ENCEDIDO (Función antibacteriana)
La función antibacteriana está activada por defecto. El termostato suministrará automáticamente el elemento calefactor si la temperatura del agua no pudo alcanzar una temperatura adecuada durante mucho tiempo. Esta función está diseñada para eliminar las bacterias en el agua.
NOTA: Esta función siempre está activa si el calentador de agua Eléctrico está por debajo de 60° C o está apagado, pero aún está conectado a la fuente eléctrica.
2.6 ENCENDIDO (Anticongelante)
El calentador de agua tiene una función de protección contra el hielo, para evitar daños al sistema. Este sistema no permitirá que la temperatura del agua descienda por debajo de 5° C.
NOTA: Esta función está activa incluso cuando el aparato está APAGADO, pero aún conectado a la fuente eléctrica. El punto de ajuste es de 16 ° C y la histéresis es de 11 ° C. Entonces, si la temperatura medida es inferior a 5 ° C, el elemento calefactor se enciende. Solo cuando la temperatura medida alcanza los 16 ° C, el elemento calefactor se apaga.
2.7 ENCENDIDO (VACACIONES)
MODELO DE TECNOLOGÍA DIGITAL:
Cuando el calentador de agua está configurado en modo vacaciones, las funciones antibacterianas y anticongelantes están activadas, y los LED y la pantalla están APAGADOS, excepto el LED L_VACACIONES, que está ENCENDIDO.
3. FUNCIONES DE SEGURIDAD
IMPORTANTE:
Los usuarios o los técnicos deben desconectar la fuente eléctrica principal antes de realizar cualquier operación en el Calentador de Agua Eléctrico. APAGANDOLO con el botón de ENCENDIDO / APAGADO o con un potenciómetro no garantiza que el aparato esté completamente APAGADO.
Asegúrese de verificar la temperatura del agua antes de usarlo, incluso si el aparato está APAGADO por un largo período de tiempo. El ciclo antibacteriano puede activarse incluso si está APAGADO.
Para reiniciar manualmente el calentador de agua, el usuario debe APAGAR y ENCENDER el calentador de agua presionando el botón APAGADO / ENCENDIDO.
Si el error detectado se reinicia manualmente y aun así el calentador de agua no funciona, por favor llame al personal de servicio o a un técnico autorizado.
Durante su funcionamiento (ENCENDIDO y APAGADO), el calentador de agua verifica el valor de la temperatura medida para detectar inmediatamente cualquier situación de peligro para el usuario o el sistema. En caso de que se detecte un error, el calentador de agua APAGA el elemento calefactor, todos los LED de la HMI comienzan a parpadear; al presionar y mantener presionado el botón de ENCENDIDO / APAGADO, el usuario puede ingresar en el modo de diagnóstico, donde los LED y la pantalla se encenderán o apagarán de acuerdo con la TABLA 4 para el MODELO DE TECNOLOGÍA DIGITAL Y LA TABLA 5 para el MODELO DE TECNOLOGÍA DE BARRA de las especificaciones.
Si el error detectado es un error volátil, el calentador de agua permanece en estado de error hasta que se mantenga la causa del error.
Si el error detectado es un error no volátil, el calentador de agua permanece en estado de error hasta un reinicio manual (Vea el párrafo 3.4). En caso de intervención de la seguridad térmica, cuando el termostato se rearma, la HMI continuará mostrando el error hasta un reinicio manual.
Si la falla detectada es una advertencia, la interfaz señala una falla hasta que la causa del error permanezca o hasta que la fuente de alimentación se apague y se encienda.
Sensores de temperatura ABRIR / CORTO CIRCUITO: Si los sensores leen un valor fuera del rango, el calentador de agua debe detectar este error. Tan pronto como los sensores lean un valor dentro del rango, el calentador de agua debe dejar el estado de error (Si no hay otro error) y este puede ENCENDER el elemento calefactor.
ADVERTENCIA DEL ELEMENTO DE CALEFACCIÓN (Velocidad de calentamiento baja): Si el elemento de calefacción se suministra durante más de 2 horas consecutivas y la temperatura medida por el sensor no muestra cambios significativos, el calentador de agua debe detectar esta advertencia que puede deberse al mal funcionamiento del elemento de calefacción. Tan pronto como la temperatura muestra cambios significativos en dos horas, el calentador de agua elimina la señal de error. Esta advertencia también se elimina si la fuente de electricidad se APAGA y se ENCIENDE.
CALEFACCIÓN EN SECO: Si el calentador de agua funciona sin estar primero lleno de agua, el termostato registra un aumento de temperatura mucho más rápido que las condiciones de funcionamiento normales y puede detectar este error. Esta falla debe eliminarse haciendo un reinicio. Después de un reinicio, el agua debe dejar el estado de error (Si no hay otro error) y este puede encender el elemento calefactor.
SOBRECALENTAMIENTO: Si la temperatura medida supera de manera relevante el punto de ajuste establecido por el usuario, el termostato debe detectar este error. Esta falla debe eliminarse haciendo un reinicio. Después de un reinicio, el agua debe dejar el estado de error (Si no hay otro error) y este puede ENCENDER el elemento calefactor.
