Hello Friends,
The big event is waiting to happen! On the eve of the much-awaited-and-anxiously-looked-forward-to meet, I still remember the first time I met Ms.Gita at the Constitution Club, New Delhi. She was all alone at that time with her dream of organizing a PowWow in Delhi. We shared similar views and values and felt an urgent need for the linguists living in this great motherland of ours to get united, get better equipped and more enlightened about their chosen profession.
That dream of holding the first PowWow in Delhi is going to be fulfilled tomorrow.
From the core of my heart, I wish to congratulate all those Delhites who were present in the subsequent four pre-meets, putting their heads together, thinking, rethinking and having brain storming sessions to make this meet a thumping success. Bravo, Ms Jaya Bhat, Mr.Sanjay Ray, Ms.Jasbir and Mr.Jaswinder, Mr.Siddiqui, Mr.Masood, Mr.Satheesh, Prof. Dhingra, to name a few.
I wish this event all the best. I really want to witness this dream being realized tomorrow but I regret to inform that due to some unavoidable circumstances I would not be able to attend the meet. Life, as you all know, is very unpredictable, and is full of twists and turns and creates circumstances that sometimes prevent you from doing what you want to! I was to thank you all in the end tomorrow for gracing the occasion. I now take this opportunity to thank you all in advance for becoming a part of this dream. One of our other capable colleagues will be there to thank you all in person. I am sure my absence will not be missed.

Hello to all,
It feels sooooo good to see an all-encompassing excitement in the air about the 11th Sept Meet. This excitement is infectious which is inspiring us further to work day-in-day-out, non-stop to make it a thumping success. The core group, including myself, is working reeeeaaaally hard to make it a shining success.
We are looking forward to meeting all of you on that day! You are requested, hereby, to confirm that you would be attending the meet.
Ms Gita, who initiated the idea of organizing this meet, wants that all the participants do kindly confirm about their participation on that day. Her computer is down and she has to go to the cyber caf to work on computer. She has also been working relentlessly for this meet and is stressed out as she has been working very hard for the noble cause of the bonding of Linguists. Three cheers for her!!!
To start with, I am confirming that as decided earlier, I am anchoring this meet.

There could be POWWOW's earlier but those who could not attend them due to any reasons could really never know what were the deleberations there. So I hope that from this time onwards, transcripts of the meeting, and other materials should be made available to all the interested translators.

This will be the first ever powwow that will be going to be organised in India. I wish all interesting ones best of luck! Please let me be informed about each and every thing that may be discussed in powwow. Please put forth your views in this page about some of the topics and problems i.e. is needed to be discussed. For example- Translators' image and role in modern India, translation arena's future in our country, problems working as a freelancers/agencies and their solutions etc. Agencies may also show deep interest as I feel that they can find good translators there upon whom they can trust. As I'm very much busy and far from Delhi, so despite of strong desire, I can't attend the meeting. But strongly urge all you fellow translators from Gurgaon or nearby to attend this powwow. If you have any problem, please discuss them with organizer.
