Toll manufacturing 直译是“付费生产”，意思是“你给钱，我帮你做”。是一个厂家委托另一个厂家为其制造某一部件、某一种特殊材料、某种特殊化学制剂等等的合约关系，是制造业专门化的一种形式。
譬如，甲工厂有一部特殊机床，用起来很方便，但多数时间闲着。乙工厂因为缺少这种特殊机床，开发新产品方面收到很大限制。这时如果乙工厂把要用特殊机床的工件加工委托给甲工厂，就可以使双方受益。
