Discussion

Non-ProZ.com May 27, 2004:
female-female I am not fond of the term "patice/patice" at all. But all the terminology I am familiar with refers to electrical and mechanical devices. Since I have no idea what the adapter exactly looks like, have trouble deciding if any of the technical terms could apply, e.g. s vnitrnim zavitek, se zdirkami... Is the "female/female" part basically ignored (as Julius implies) or what is the common way?

adaptér typu zásuvka-zásuvka

"samice-samice" is more appropriate in documents referring to electrical devices and wiring.

agree Jaroslav Tomiczek : zásuvka-zásuvka sounds better. I use that as well.

adaptér

I think better word (more technical in this content) is the word "adaptér" instead of "patice"
