תנועה שורשית (Grassroots) פוליטית, היא תנועה הבנויה מרשת של אזרחים. פעילים שורשיים שואפים לשינוי במוסדות הפוליטיים דרך פעולה לא-אלימה, ומתנגדים למבנים ארגוניים היררכיים.<br /><br />בפוליטיקה, התארגנות שורשית היא התארגנות של אזרחים מן השורה המבצעים פעילות בלתי-רגילה על מנת לשפר את העולם שבו אנו חיים, על פי דרכם. במסגרת התארגנות שכזו מגייסים, מאמנים ומניעים אנשים לעלות את המודעות ולעודד לשינוי חיובי.<br /><br />פעילות התנועה השורשית מתבצעת ברמה הקהילתית (גם אם השאיפה היא לשינוי גלובלי), על מנת לתרגל השפעה פוליטית ולספק אלטרנטיבה להשפעה דרך הון פרטי.
