They are recommending planting "persistants" in a rock garden that will flower all year round. I only know about perennials (that I believe flower year after year) or annuals (that flower once then you throw them out and buy more the following year). I have to add that I know nothing about gardening - this is a real estate company's website that also gives tips to home owners.

The page confirms evergeen as plants which are "à feuilles persistantes....dont les feuilles ne tombent pas à la fin de la période de la végétation et restent toujour vertes pendant plusieurs années..."
