French term

artificialisant

French to English Tech/Engineering Environment & Ecology lake management

agree Jonathan MacKerron : artificially regulated ? (as opposed to natural regulation)

thanks, Jonathan, that could make it more specific. Regulating in itself implies doing something contrary to nature - but perhaps this aspect needs more emphasis...?
agree Miranda Joubioux (X) : yes for "artificially regluating"

... behaviour

That's the turn of phrase that comes to mind, though not sure if "behaviour" is the best option here.

agree Kate Hudson (X) : There is an English verb ' to artificilise' meaning 'to render artificial'

denaturalizing

This term seems to crop up in phrases such as "denaturalized river"... maybe it would do here?
Peer comment(s):

agree MatthewLaSon : Yep, that was my guess as well.
