Mallah\'s

Hindi to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
Hello everyone,

The official script for the Indian movie Issaq is in English.
The movie itself is in English, that's why I'm asking my question in Hindi-English pair.

- Stop Press!
- Ms. Pratima, I've a front row view of the chaos created by the city's Sand Mafia.
- Legally, the Mallah's have a right to this sand. A war has erupted between the two sand-mafias.
Kashyap and Mishra, to assert their right on this sand worth 5000 million.
- The Mallah's are putting their life at stake for this sand.
- The ancestral enmity between Manohar Mishra and Vishwanarayan Kashyap is nothing new for our readers.
- The latest on it is that Kashyap's strongman Teeta Singh has laid siege on this river bank.
And on the other hand Mishra's men are turning back, disappointed…

Who are the Mallah's and why is it written with 's? If this is a family, shouldn't it be written as the Mallahs?

I looked through the whole script and "Mallah's" is mentioned only one more time: I took care of the 'Mallahs'.

Is the Mallah's another name for Kashyap or Mishra? Or are theythe thrird party to the conflict in addition to Kashyap or Mishra?

Thank you.
