crepitation
crepitation (also crepitus): a dry, crackling sound or sensation, such as that produced by the grating fo the ends of a fractured bone.
Any doctor examining a patient for bony injury would consider crepitus over the site of injury as strong evidence of the presence of a fracture. Commonly one would see "No crepitation" written in the notes.

You might also make it "crepitations" in your particular instance.
