What is astrology?
Since time began, the human race has quested the future. Earlier, he wanted to know where he will get successful hunt, when there will be rain, the movement of enemy, the outcome of journey—and to know the future was to have an advantage. It was a great need and every clan had its own Guru, Pandit ,Jyotish or Tantrik, wise man, elders. They use to explain that why and when something will happen and thereby reduce fear.
The human race has come a long way since those scratching on cave wall. And, in modern world, the future is still uncertain and today also, people need someone who can guide them in the future.
Nowadays, you know so many organizations are involved in predicting the outcome of various events. For example, scientists predicts outcome of any experiment, meteorology predicting weather, exit polls and economist predicting events, but these entities predicts about the established organization.
But, who forecasts for you – they are astrologers, psychics, numerologist,vasatu consultant, face reader etc.
I started studying astrology to fulfill my thirst for knowledge but in a short time my friends and relatives started coming to me. They will not only ask for their future but they also wanted me to be their seer or advisor.
The path of astrology is enmeshed with the collective’s need for mystery, wonder and spirituality.
Now, tell me what is astrology?
According to me – Astrology is a true divine science as well as an art.
Why do I call it Science?
It is Science because it is a systematic studies which follows certain principles and gives testable explanations and gives predictable results or in shorter term—Science of probabilities.
It deals with the effects that planets have on human beings.
And why do I call it art?
It is an art because its interpretation, its use and misuse can be dependent on astrologer’s skill or capabilities.
You try to relate it with cooking—everyone knows what ingredients do we need for making dal but the final taste of dal is different.
Similarly, what an astrologer will serve to you will depend on his knowledge of astrological principles and his capabilities to apply these principles for the benefit of his client.
Now, friends! Do you believe in astrology?
What are your experiences?
I am sure all of you must have experienced – sometimes, when predictions were accurate –you were amazed that how an astrologer can come to know you so well.
And other time when the prediction went wrong, you must have felt like sue the astrologer for giving you false hopes and false worries.
So, the question is should you believe in astrology?
I am not asking you to believe in it or see it with suspicion.
But, what I can tell you is – that how can you use it for realizing your full potentials.
Astrology can help you in self- discovery in understanding who you are and what are your strengths and weakness.
It can help you in understanding -- what is-- in your future?
It can help you in taking decision based on your future times.
It can help you in understanding with whom you are compatible and with whom you are incompatible. If you are incompatible then how you can understand your partner better and understand his behavior and deal accordingly. It is like matching the horoscope.
It can also help you that when you should start any venture—or take out Muhurat for commencing any activity.
Now the question arise—that how an astrologer can determine your potentials and coming times?
The answer is through your horoscope.
Now the question is – what is horoscope?
Horoscope is the position of planets in Zodiac based on what time and where you were born.
Horoscope is like a seed.
When a farmer sees the seed – he can immediately tell that what is the potentials of the seed when it will fully bloom, what kind of flowers and fruits it will give. But, it is a part of its surroundings and surrounding is the part of the universe and universe is effected by the movements of the planets. So, our horoscope is affected by our surroundings.
Now, I am going to tell about the raw material of astrology—Fate
Fate vs Free Will
Astrologer can only work with the part of an individual that is subject to fate. Thus, the accuracy of any prediction is limited by the amount of involvement the individual has with fate.
Now the question is how much is a person’s life is dictated by fate? That means you can’t change anything then why will you go to astrologer. An astrologer will predict everything and a human being will be like a well- designed robot. News broadcast will tell what will happen rather than what happened.
If we say that none of our life is dictated by fate! Then what we astrologers are doing from last 5000 years.
The person life is influenced by the master plan or fate.
So, there are major 2 factors which works in astrology—Fate (raw material of astrology) and there is life (which is called free will) is not present in a chart.
Every human being strive for wholeness or the perfect world.
And, the astrologer tells about your fated struggle for wholeness, about your journeys, stories and problems in the birth-chart.
Fate strives to teach by placing obstacles in the pathway of life, like a lesson learnt by a student. You can then make a choice – either you can choose to learn quickly and accurately by accepting your limitations. Or you continually fail.
It is like as you saw me growing from a committee member to the post of vice president. When, you have learned one lesson, life gives you another lesson to learn.
So, fate at a particular time presents the individual with an option like multiple choice question. The individual being fated by the quest of wholeness, selects one or more option, either consciously or unconsciously.
Fate is like a multiple choice list and free will is the individual desire for maximum growth potential.
And, astrology can forecast the timing and style of forthcoming events but your efforts are not shown in the chart. Your efforts shows the exact expression of the event.

युग के प्रारंभ से ही, मानव जाति ने भविष्य के बारे में प्रश्न करना शुरू कर दिया है। पहले उसने यह जानना चाहा कि कहाँ उसे बढ़िया शिकार मिलेगा, वर्षा कब होगी, शत्रु की चाल क्या है, यात्रा फलीभूत होगी या नहीं - और भविष्य जानने से लाभ था । यह एक बड़ी जरूरत थी और इसके लिए हर कबीले के अपने गुरु, पंडित, ज्योतिषी या तांत्रिक, ज्ञानी, गुरुजन थे। वे यह स्पष्ट करते थे कि क्यों और कब कुछ घटित होगा और इस प्रकार वे लोगों का भय कम किया करते थे ।
मानव जाति ने गुफा की दीवार पर खरोंच डालने के समय से अबतक एक लंबा सफर तय किया है। और, आधुनिक संसार में, भविष्य अभी भी अनिश्चित है एवं आज भी लोगों को ऐसे व्यक्ति की जरूरत है जो भविष्य में उनका मार्गदर्शन कर सकते हैं ।

जन्मकुंडली एक बीज की तरह है ।
जब कोई किसान बीज बोता है – तो वह तत्काल बीज की क्षमता के बारे में बता सकता है कि वह कब विकसित होगा, उसमें किस तरह के फूल और फल लगेंगे। परंतु वह अपने अपने परिवेश का एक अंश है और परिवेश ब्रह्मांड का अंश है तथा ब्रह्मांड ग्रहों की गति से प्रभावित होता है । अत: हमारी जन्मकुंडली हमारे परिवेश द्वारा प्रभावित होती है ।
अब, मैं ज्योतिष के कच्चे माल – भाग्य पर प्रकाश डालने जा रहा हूँ ।
भाग्य बनाम स्वेच्छा
ज्योतिषी किसी व्यक्ति के उसी अंश पर कार्य कर सकता है जो भाग्य के अधीन है। इस प्रकार,किसी भी भविष्यवाणी की सटीकता भाग्य के साथ किसी व्यक्ति की अंतर्ग्रस्तता की मात्रा तक सीमित है।
अब प्रश्न यह उठता है कि भाग्य किसी व्यक्ति का जीवन किस सीमा तक तय करता है ? इसका अर्थ यह है कि यदि आप कुछ भी बादल नहीं सकते तो आप क्यों ज्योतिषी के पास जाएंगे।ज्योतिषी सब कुछ भविष्यवाणी कर देगा और कोई इंसान एक अच्छी तरह से डिजाइन किए गए रोबोट की तरह हो जाएगा। समाचार प्रसारण, क्या हुआ की तुलना में क्या होगा, बता देगा।
