Bio

Dear Sir/Madam:

I am a native Korean speaker. My translation pairs are
English to Korean and vice versa.

I have a BA in Economics from Seoul National
University and MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of
Economics and Political Science. I earned an FRM (Financial Risk Manager)
certificate accredited by GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals) and
passed the United States uniform CPA (Certified Public Accountant) examination.

My professional career revolved around financial
services and accountancy in international settings. I started my work in the
accounting division of Bank of America, Seoul Branch in 1999 and then continued
my career with KAI (Korea Accounting Institute) from 2006 to 2018, which
includes my two-year secondment to the IFRS (International Financial Reporting
Standards) Foundation which is in London, UK.

Whilst working with KAI, I was extensively involved
with translating from English to Korean and vice versa. Among other things, I
took part in the long-term national project of adopting IFRS into Korean law.

More specifically, I specialized in translating IFRS
standards for financial instruments, which are known to be highly complex and
voluminous standards in comparison with the rest of IFRS standards for other
subjects. I also worked on translating quite a number of consultative documents
published by the IFRS Foundation. My translation helped facilitate the
alignment of Korean accounting standards with IFRS.

Aside from my full-time job, I have been providing pro
bono translation services for Hongik Academy since 2014; the Academy promotes
Korean spirituality and philosophy. I translate subtitles from Korean to
English for online lectures that are posted on YouTube and Facebook.

As a freelance translator since 2019, I have translated
from English to Korean a number of documents including:

- security analyst reports (approx. 30,00words);

- promotional documents of a hotel;

- a brief note of an improved blood transfusion system;

- a description of a new GPS tracking product; and

- audio lesson manuscripts of somatic exercise therapy (approx. 16,000).

In providing my translation services, I am as much
meticulous and punctual as people would expect an accountant to be.

I sincerely look forward to working with your agency.

Warm regards,

Won-Hee Han
