Oct 5, 2020 (posted via ProZ.com):  Reviewing a government handbook on the process for securing institutional funding. Certain govt bodies seem intent on translating their own official names into English without proper consultation, meaning I have to leave words like "Deputyship of XYZ" instead of "XYZ Agency/Department/etc" in the translation because that is their established title. Interestingly, some of these mis-translations become so widespread that they are essentially standard English within a certain region.
