Chinese term

先不

Non-PRO Chinese to English Medical IT (Information Technology) medical equipment
This is from email exchanges between call center representatives and technicians in the field in China about medical equipment:
报价为第三方产品,先不报价.
联系过客户,先不到现场,不加operation.

I translated 先不 as "don't...first"; for example, "don't give a price quote first," but a reviewer said it should be "suspend" in the first sentence above. I haven't found 先不 in any dictionary.

don't ... first

You are right. It means you should not take the mentioned action immediately, but should do others first.

You are welcoome!

Of course you can also say "no...for now" or "no...for the time being".
Note from asker:
Thank you! This looks like the best choice, but I am thinking of making a small change and phrasing it as "no...for now"; that seems to have the same meaning while being less formal.
