supersede 应如何翻译？

在ciba公司资料的免责声明中，第一句是：“The following supersedes buyer's documents."。随后是免责声明的具体内容。声明的内容可以理解，但这第一句不知如何翻译？尤其是“supersede”。如译为“代替，取代，更换，置换，废除”，那末，buyer's documents就是买方的文件（或）单据。这样翻译好象很说不通，而且与整个声明在语意上是无法衔接的。

I understand your point about the disclaimer portion below this statement that is referred to as superseding the buyer's documents. I can only make a logical guess here that the source text is somewhat lacking in completeness and what it really means is "The following (disclaimer) supersedes **the disclaimer** in the buyer's documents." This could happen when a company's regulations have changed and a separate document is issued for the changes.
