I am an Associate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. 

I'm from Sheffield in the UK and always enjoyed language learning at school. I've always travelled widely in Europe and kept up friendships across the continent: but it was living and working in Paris for a year that confirmed that I wanted to do language work full time.

After completing my studies at Cambridge in 2009 I started part-time translation alongside working in marketing, research and administrative roles. From 2011 I moved to translating full-time.

The work I'm proudest of is the wide variety of work that I have done for the Qobuz musical company, which ranges from highly technical reviews of Hi-Fi equipment to wide-ranging discussions of instruments, music and culture in reviews of music covering five continents and many centuries.

The work I enjoy the most is anything to do with animals and nature - and in particular a large Environmental Impact Report for a major engineering project I worked on detailing the lives of all sorts of animals on Germany's Baltic coast.

Like many commercial translators I have a couple of literary translation projects on the go, but I'll not say anything about them until they're ready for publication!
