Hi, I’m a recent graduate in Russian-Finnish-Russian and English to Finnish language pairs, with a focus on creative industry translations such as marketing and literary projects. During my master’s studies, I explored various topics, expanding beyond traditional translating.
In addition to my main focus, I undertook a course to create easy instructions for lecturers and university staff on providing audio description for lecture materials, so that the lecture materials would be more accessible for the visually impaired. Furthermore, my master’s thesis involved collaboration with a research group specializing in comic-style documents, exploring innovative and accessible ways to present information. Theoretical foundations of my thesis include social semiotics, usability and user-centered translation, and a focus on simple language and simple images.
While my expertise centers around expressive text, my varied studies have equipped me with a holistic understanding of language and communication.
