"In addition to keeping a close eye on the quality of cognitive functions, and neuropsychological re-evaluation is highly recommendable, with the aim of monitoring function quality."

"Cuidado Cercano" literally means "close care". However, it is difficult to maintain this in the translation without it seeming order stilted to native speakers IMHO. This is why I propose redrafting the sentence. I'd say "cuidado cercano" in this case means "keeping a close eye on/closely monitoring" or similar expressions.

By the same logic, if we want to maintain "Como parte del cuidado " in the translation, it becomes more difficult, which is why I changed it to "In addition to...", , Which at the end of the day, to all intents and purposes, is more or less the same thing.

Sorry, typo, it should read "a", not "and":
""In addition to keeping a close eye on the quality of cognitive functions, a neuropsychological re-evaluation is highly recommendable, with the aim of monitoring function quality."

Another possibility:
"While keeping a close eye on the quality of cognitive functions, a neuropsychological re-evaluation is highly recommendable, with the aim of monitoring function quality."

Oops, another Dragon error: "order stilted " should read "odd or stilted"...

: Tend to agree with this version, although I find the Spanish wording mystifying.

close observation
As well as close observation of the cognitive functions, a neuropsychological reassessment is highly recommended, so as to monitor the function quality.
Discussion
Not a typo either...
