I hold a PhD from Cornell University in Germanic Studies. I lived in Germany and Holland for six years where I also taught English as a Foreign Language and was additionally employed by several language and translation institutions there. I have extensive experience in proofreading and editing in both business and academic fields. I have worked in the editorial departments of numerous publications. As an instructor of Composition I am particularly capable of editing texts. I have significant translating experience, in particular specializing in the areas of market research, cook books and nutrition, fashion and academic articles. I work closely with the client and aspire to produce translations that are not only accurate, but which also reflect the suitable syntax and overall style appropriate to a given text and author.
