Short bio and
statement by Alexander Mikheyshin I am a professional translator, with more than five years of
specialized training in translation and interpretation. I have more than five
years’ experience of working as an interpreter and translator in the
1980s and early 1990s. Afterward, I spent most of my career in positions of
international cooperation management in academia. I have had a long positive
record of developing and launching educational and research projects for
Belarusian and Russian Universities in cooperation with European and American
partner institutions. Before I switched to freelancing in late 2021, I was
teaching a specialized course for BA students at the Translation and
Interpretation Department of the Institute of Foreign Languages at Herzen
University in St Petersburg. More details are available in my CV. I will be happy to help qualified customers and language
companies with good-quality translations in my language pairs. My working
languages are English and Portuguese, with my mother tongue Russian. I also can
translate texts from Belarusian or Ukrainian into English or Portuguese. I accept texts and documents for translation only in those
subject areas that I am familiar with. My rates are flexible, depending on subject, complexity and volume of the text, as well as other details of the translation
or editing project. I prefer long-term relationship with customers or language
service providers, agreed upon in a service agreement, rather than one-time or
few occasional translation assignments a year. My working motto is “Quality First”. If the quality
requirements precede those of speed and volume delivery, then rest assured we
will do fine quality things for your customer.
