My suggestion is to opt for a direct translation and include the original Chinese title in parentheses.

Hi, thanks for your response. Yet I'm not so sure 各論 here should be translated as monograph, for according to what I found, 刑法各論 seems to be specific crimes/provisions in criminal/penal law. However, with 體系 in front of that, I'm not sure what it or whole thing means. But again, since I didn't study law, I am not sure either if your suggestion is wrong. If you could provide more reason as to why we should use "monograph" here, perhaps I would consider it. |

I was asked to use the SOAS citation system for a job I did. This system is long and clunky but very complete. Each reference is rendered in: pinyin 汉字 (translation)
e.g.:
