Hi experts,

I have Windows XP and Trados Freelance 2007. I have received a .tag extension file from one of my clients which he says is a Quark tag file. As and when I try to open in TagEditor, it does not not open and the following message is shown:

(35017):SSLex 0105e:Invalid token Line I, Offset 15

Could you identify the problem and suggest a solution so that I can open and translate it?

Thanks in anticipation.

Regards,

Line 1, character 15 Jan 12, 2012

Open the .tag file in a text editor (Such as Notepad++). On line 1, observe the 15th character. Make sure you have invisible characters enabled. What do you see?

Thanks but the problem persists Jan 12, 2012

I opened the file in Notepad but there is nothing unusual with the 15th character of the first line because it is one of the letters of English alphabet.

Is this indeed a valid QXP export? Jan 12, 2012

Is it stored as UTF-8?

Thanks for your query Jan 12, 2012

How should I find it out? What is the method to know whether it is stored as UTF-8 or not?

Open in Notepad Jan 12, 2012

Select File - Save as and chose UTF-8 as encoding, if not already chosen.

Here is an example of a valid TAG file (only a starting part of it of course):
