Wordfast bugs with Word 2003 论题张贴者: Rob Grayson

Hi,
I've just installed the latest version of Wordfast (5.25) on a trial basis - it's the first time I've used a CAT tool. I use Word 2003 and seem to be having some instability problems.

I've just installed the latest version of Wordfast (5.25) on a trial basis - it's the first time I've used a CAT tool. I use Word 2003 and seem to be having some instability problems.
The first thing I noticed is that within Word, I seem to have lost all functionality of the mouse except for the scroll wheel. I can no longer click in the document, click on the R/H scroll bar, highlight text using the mouse etc.
I have had further problems when composing messages in Outlook, where I use Word 2003 as my e-mail editor. The same problems occur as above with the non-functioning mouse, plus two others: (1) hitting the Delet or Backspace keys seems to be interpreted by the software as a "close" command, causing a dialogue box to appear asking me if I wish to save the document before closing. (2) If I attach a Word document to my message, such as a completed translation, and then double-click on this attached file to open it (e.g. to check it's the right file), it does not open - no error message or anything, it just doesn't open.
Finally, I use Macromedia FlashPapepr to convert certain documents to pdf format. This places a FlashPaper menu within Word. Since installing Wordfast, the FlashPaper menu has disappeared from Word.
I hope someone can give me some idea how to remove these bugs, otherwise i fear my use of Wordfast will be very short-lived!
Thanks in advance,

Please read "Troubleshooting" section of the manual, regarding Outlook. I recommend to use Outlook in HTML mode.
Where have you looked for FlashPaper? Is menu present, when WF is inactive? Have you checked Tools/Templates and Add-ins in Word?
Please see also Pandora's Box command KeepTemplate.

You can't use Wordfast out-of-the-box when you use Word as your Outlook editor and when you have an aggressive PDF converter installed in Word. The Outlook thing is a VBA bug, the PDF thing is a common bug: some templates don't let go of their Word space, even when they're not invoked.
Wordfast has its own bugs, but they're minor.

Kind regards,
