Bio:Born in Portugal where I lived until until I finished my national Service.
I Was sent to Portuguese Timor (now ex. port.) where I was chosen to teach the Timorese children in a school in remote Lacluta.
Was in Timor that I first taught and learned about Australia and... how well everyone spoke about this lovely country where I have now been living and working since 1972.
I am therefore fluent in both languages, English and Portuguese, as my life is almost equally divided in the number of years spent in both countries- Portugal/Australia
It was in Australia where I became an accredited naati translator/Interpreter already in 1983.
The job as a full time translator never eventuate and had to look elsewhere to ''earn a bob'' as we say in good Australian.
Started teaching foreign languages, privately as well running my own business in the Building Industry, that I built from scratch, in Sydney.
Now semiretired in Adelaide from my Construction Company and having done for the last four (4) years lots and lots of pro bono work, translations and revisions, very valuable I must add to anyone choosing translation as a career, (best apprenticeship I recommend it) but how do you move into the next level... with Google and other T/S/POB services at our heels? sorry about the pun! That I don't know myself how to answer.

Bio:I am a Spanish native speaker that is now living in USA because my husband has a position there.
Translation first interested me in high school where I realized that I was capable of understanding other languages in a deeper level. Instead of doing a translation degree..., I studied English Philology. But I did some translation related courses.
Once I finished, I moved with my husband and started working as a Freelance translator. I have been working as Freelancer since then.
