Has anyone else noticed that DeepL (French/German to English at least) has recently started translating double quotation as single quotation marks, and vice versa? I've written to support to point it out, but it hasn't been fixed so far.

Thanks, but as far as I'm aware, there is no stylistic reason to use single quotation marks instead of double in British Engish, and I can't find any sources for that. They should be the same as the source text, whether single or double, and whether US or British English.

Apologies Cilian, it seems that you're right, single quotation marks are standard in British English, though apparently double are also acceptable these day.
