Work experience: A variety of work experience as a student and when travelling that included grape-picking, bar, hotel & restaurant work, 

>Cook in the Canadian Merchant Marine for 7 years.

>Girl Friday in an art gallery (5 years).

>Tour guide.

>Retail, Sales & Marketing.

>Banking (part/time in credit cards and collections) for 6 years.

> Teaching, EFL/ESOL to all levels up to Cambridge Proficiency over 30 years. 

> Also Teaching (15 years) French, English and Spanish (with some History and Geography) to second-level (High school) students.

> part-time translation for more than 30 years and full time since 2009.

Travel After graduation I emigrated to Canada and was based in Montreal for 10 years with frequent long trips south to the US and Mexico, Central America, north to the Arctic and several trips around Europe. I then lived in Thailand as an EFL teacher for 5 years.

Currently:

I live in rural Ireland, surrounded by farms, and devote myself mostly to translating, proofreading and editing.

I continue my interest in Art by painting/drawing/exhibiting. I also keep a link with education by working as a French Examiner for the State Exams (Oral, Aural, Written) and do some private tuition in languages.

Translation Specialisms: Art and Literature in particular but I also like working in the fields of Academia, Business,  Education, Finance, Law, Travel/Tourism

Because of my educational background, varied work experience, extensive travel and a variety of interests I have also completed work in many other fields, and match the style and register:
