English英语译成Chinese汉语: plan of investigation General field: 医学 Detailed field: 心理学
My PhD orientation is neuropsychological development of Chinese children. The objective of this investigation is to test the validity and reliability of the first Chinese version of the computerized Battery for Neuropsychological Evaluation of Children (BENCI) on a Chinese population where neuropsychological tests are very scarce. For a long time, Chinese investigators are lack of children's neuropsychological development tools which are complete and also easy to measure. Most researchers have used the “neuropsychological development scale in children with 0-6 years” which are jointly prepared by Capital Institute of Pediatrics and Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This has resulted that all the substantial literature showed that our study was limited to children under 6 years old, but the latest research confirms that neurodevelopment of children will continue until about 20 years old, which means that our previous assessment methods and the investigation population has significant limitations.
Our team has developed a computerized battery for the neuropsychological evaluation of children by means of international cooperative projects. This battery has been used in different studies to evaluate neuropsychological and neurodevelopment in children and has demonstrated discriminate validity. The BENCI includes tests that evaluate different neuropsychological areas such as processing speed, visuomotor coordination, attention, memory, language, and executive functions. In addition to the fact that the BENCI battery has good psychometric properties, using tablet pc (Ipad) for operation, which also is a free program (App), meanwhile we are developing android version. It's user-friendly, easy to operate, with pictures and sounds, thus children can simply touch the screen when they do the test. It's easy to attract children's attention, and also enjoyable for them. BENCI consists of 14 neuropsychological tests. It takes about 75 minutes to complete in one session with a break of 10 minutes.
BENCI currently is available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, and our investigators are carrying out project of the assessment in South America, Middle East, North Africa, Europe and other regions with it. Recently I have finished the translation work of Chinese version of BENCI, but for the Chinese children we still need to make some adjustments and changes to adapt to Chinese culture and education.
We will administrate BENCI to test Chinese children with 6-18 years old who are in the same city but from different schools (100 boys and 100 girls for each age approximately), then we have to examine the reliability and validity of BENCI, we will administrate BENCI to test children who are from five different cities (totally 100 boys and 100 girls of each city approximately) to compare if the test results have significant difference in each age group of them. After testing BENCI, we will also send out the questionnaire to the children and their parents about influence factors of neurodevelopment like nutrition, family socioeconomic status (SES), academic records. We tried to contact them in order to find out which factor will affect neuropsychological development of children, we expect that BENCI will demonstrate the capacity to differentiate between children by their age group, and can be widely used in laboratory and clinical studies in China and other countries with Chinese immigrants.

I have been here in Spain almost 4 year. I'm a PhD. student of Psychology in the University of Granada, also I'm working in a private Chinese medicine clinic. I have three master degrees, traditional Chinese medicine, public health and preventive medicine, neuroscience and pain. I did a lot of translation work from English to Chinese (sometimes Korean to Chinese) for the web site and video group when I was in China. Now I'm doing the translation from Chinese to Spanish in the field of Chinese medicine, also from Spanish to Chinese in the field of Psychology.
