With France and Germany leading the way, the economy in the 12 nations that use the Euro currency grew at its fastest quarterly rate since 2000, a development that is expected to fortify the resolve of the European Central Bank to raise interest rates again this year.
The gross domestic product of the nations grew 0.9 percent from April to June compared with the previous quarter, Eurostat, the statistics agency of the European Union, reported Monday. Growth has recently mostly reflected strong exports, but the latest figure received a lift from business investment and consumers whose reluctance to spend has been the hallmark of the slow recovery.
The German economy, where households have been the most tightfisted, also grew 0.9 percent.
“Domestic demand is doing its job, finally,” said Erik Nielsen, chief Europe economist with Goldman Sachs. “We finally have a little drive from something other than exports, which is good.”

This study will test the safety and immunogenicity of the gp120/NefTat/AS02A vaccine candidate in individuals with chronic HIV-1 infection successfully treated with HAART. The rationale for this study is based on previous scientific experiments, including data indicating that this vaccine can elicit strong HIV-1-specific T cell immune responses in humans and monkeys and lead to a retardation of HIV-1 disease progression in animal models of HIV-1 infection.
The HIV vaccine to be administered during this study consists of three recombinant HIV clade B viral antigens: the envelope glycoprotein gp120 and two regulatory proteins, Nef and Tat.The antigens are formulated in a proprietary adjuvant, AS02A, comprised of two immunostimulants in an oil-in-water emulsion (gp120/NefTat/AS02A). The vaccine and the adjuvant are manufactured and provided for the study by GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, Rixensart, Belgium. The drugs will be given by intramuscular (IM) injection at a standard dose of 20 mg together with 0.5 ml of the AS02A adjuvant.

With this aim in mind, a scientific team from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, United States of America, is testing a vaccine that if administered in childhood it could reduce the effect of this dental disease that affects about 98% of the population.
The premise of this search team is that neutralizing the effect of a bacterium called streptococcus mutans (main responsible for the appearance of caries) the problem could be solved even before its manifestation. For this, they suggest the use of a vaccine which induces the organism to respond to the most minimal sign of this germ by attacking it.

Completely Avulsed Teeth
Adult teeth that have been partially or fully avulsed (luxated) from the mouth require urgent attention. Successful treatment is contingent on the time frame that lapses from the moment of impact to the time of re-implantation of teeth that are completely removed from their sockets. Treatment must commence prior to a visit to the dentist.
- Locate the avulsed tooth
- Gently rinse the tooth in tap water if grossly contaminated
- Do not attempt debridement of the tooth surface
- Replace the tooth within its socket with minimum pressure
- Precise alignment is not as crucial as a quick response
- Obtain immediate dental care.
