I believe 增持 is used for both overweight and outperform in many Chinese news reports. Overweight have two meanings in stock. In portfolio constrcution, when a security's weight in the portfolio exceeds its weight in the underlying benchmark portfolio, its called overweight. However, in analyst rating, it just means the security will outperform its peers. My impression is 增持 is used for the translation for overweight in many occasions in the sense of portfolio construction instead of analyst rating. Many firms use either overweight or outperform for their rating system. Some firms have "accumulate" as one rating. This could be another choice for 增持.
