What is the meaning of 加持? it's used by a Taiwanese author..I have never heard of this word. Thanks!

提问者： Thanks for the answer. However, the word "endorsement" sounds like a legal term that refers to the signing of a document or something which is "officially" approved while in the article, there's no such meaning... should I just use "support" then?
