English英语译成Chinese汉语: Ethical Problems in Sports General field: 其它 Detailed field: 体育/健身/娱乐
原文文本 - English英语 In addition to lacking the resources to address ethical problems in sport that do not clearly fall under the rubric of rules, formalism suggests a less than plausible account of the ethics of rule violations in certain situations arising in athletic competition. I refer, of course, to the analysis of strategic fouls given by some writers who appear sympathetic to a formalist approach. A strategic foul is a rule violation designed to secure an advantage within the sporting contest to the team or individual who fouls. A widely discussed example is the strategic foul at the end of a basketball game, where the losing team fouls in order to stop the clock and in the hope that the opposing team will miss its foul shots thereby increasing the chances of a comeback.
