Hi all, I’m a Chinese American who moved back to the States after living in China for a few years. I was born in China, and lived "on-and-off" in Texas for almost 30 years. As a translator, I have also traveled around the world. I can speak both American English and Mandarin Chinese with native/near-native fluency.


On the interpretation side, I was trained at the conference interpreting programs in both Shanghai International University (SISU) and Middlebury Institute (previously known as the Monterey Institute, or MIIS). I am a licensed court interpreter and contract federal and immigration court interpreter here in Texas. I am also licensed in California and Oklahoma, and I carry a CATTI2 interpreter certification in China. Occasionally, I provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for conferences throughout the southern U.S. region.


Before becoming a professional translator, I worked in the finance industry for a number of years, specifically, in risk management and insurance pricing. For that role, I almost completed my actuarial designation certification) as well.
