原文文本 - English英语 In troubled times, negative language creeps into organizations; there is a propensity to use violent words and phrases, such as terminate and take out. It is neither a coincidence nor a matter to be lightly dismissed that the language of layoffs is the language of assassination. At the other end of the spectrum from the language of violence are euphemistic abstractions that distance managers from the uncomfortable emotions attendant upon a layoff. “Downsizing” feels better than “reduction-in-force”, and “rightsizing” has an almost moral ring to it.
