翻译文本 - English英语 As I left Uncle San’s home, I felt as though I were out of my senses. In what seemed to be a gloomy atmosphere, I drifted around aimlessly as if I were mad. Suddenly I heard singing coming from within the mountains. It was Awei, yet it could not be Awei, for he was still in the vegetable field. He couldn’t have flown to the other side of the mountain even if he had had Hercules’s feet. A breeze brought the singing to my ears. It was Awei. How could there be another such voice? As I was thus speculating, I saw Awei sitting on the threshold of his own house teasing the black rooster, looking exactly like the hooligan that he was. When I tried to listen again, I couldn’t hear anything. Awei’s mother came out and raised a bamboo pole to strike him. The pole fell heavily on the threshold, but Awei was already nowhere to be found. The old woman squatted on the ground and wept silent tears. I hurried away.
