If you have run SDL Trados and/or MultiTerm on the Apple Boot Camp platform, successfully or not, please tell me about it.

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience and knowledge.

Yes Aug 30, 2008

I use Trados, Office 2007 and Dragon NaturallySpeaking at the same time with Mac OSX leopard with my MacBook Pro.

No problem, running better than in my Windows PC.

I use VMware, not Boot Camp.

Regards

No problem whatsoever! Runs great when installed on Boot Camp or Parallels.

Good luck!

Try Parallels Aug 31, 2008

Hello Thor,

I would look into Parallels Desktop:
http://www.parallels.com/
http://www.parallels.com/en/products/desktop/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallels_Desktop_for_Mac
http://www.macworld.com/article/58953/2007/07/parallels3.html

I am using Parallels to access some electronic dictionaries (Langenscheidt, for instance) that only run under Windows. I have the Windows desktop open in the upper left hand of my nonitor, which leaves enough space to work on my Mac-based documents.

I expect that running Trados via Parallels should work really well.

All the best,

Claudia.

No problem with Trados Aug 31, 2008

on Mac OS, I only use a PC keyboard to work with shortcuts (no "home" or "end" keys on a Mac keyboard)

Parallels as analytical said.

VMware for me the best (I have tried Parallels)

And a new for free from SUN, it seams to be good:

Hi, Fernando,

How did you deal with the keyboard shortcuts? Did you customise them?

Daniel

I can only use 2 of then with the Macbook Keyboard. The solution is to use a "normal" USB Keyboard (I suppose)

For the rest I use the touch pad for it, not efficient but I like to use pad, keyboard and voice at the same time, it help me not to be bored

Apple's wireless keyboard lacks the home and end keys, but the wired keyboards they currently sell do have them.
