Dance mat
These mats are an extension of the incredibly popular dance video games that have taken China by storm in the last couple of years. Even seemingly sensible and reserved Chinese have yielded to their kids' demands and bought one to link up to the home PC so that they can step back and forth on the colored patches to the patterns on the screen and the sounds of buzzing and explosions and of course congratulory words like "yeah", "Get down" etc. (Might be a flash in the pan as they were all the rage last year but haven't heard anyone talk of them recently)

Dancing rug
Dancing rug (?)
Although rugs are generally small, some are also sizeable. Carpet does not seem to fit as carpet usually refers to something from wall to wall, covering the whole floor.
Dancing rug should work for those special choreographic designing that requires the dancer to partially lying down on the floor.
