When the purchase of a participating life insurance policy
is considered, some may only look at a high dividend scale
interest rate and think that’s the best product for them.
But there are numerous factors to consider when talking
about participating life insurance, and it’s important you
help put the pieces together.
Current investment experience doesn’t play the same
role in all participating accounts. In fact, the impact and
relevance of investment experience can be significantly
affected by how long an account has been open, and
more specifically, the average duration of the policies
within that account.
When looking at different participating accounts, a
higher dividend scale interest rate may not be what
actually drives the dividend in the short term. And in
the long term, when it matters most, the dividend scale
interest rate could be very different.
